A senior CPC official visit to Macedonia

Liu Yunshan, a senior Chinese Communist Party's visit to Macedonia, met with Macedonian leaders to discuss strengthening relations between China and Macedonia, officials said Saturday from diplomatic sources.
During his meeting with Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov Friday, Liu Yunshan, member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, said that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Macedonia.
China respects the development path of Macedonia and is ready to deepen bilateral relations in all areas, said Liu, who is also a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Head of Communications Department of the party.
Ivanov said that the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Macedonia and China has a strategic significance for Macedonia.
He expressed his appreciation for China's achievements on its path of development and hoped that Macedonia could benefit from the experience of China in the field of development and share the opportunities brought to the world through the development of China.
Macedonian Prime Minister Gruevski Niko said during his talks with Mr Liu that there is great potential in cooperation between the two countries in economic and commercial fields.
Macedonia will take active measures to promote the development of relations between the two countries. Chinese companies are welcomed in the development of infrastructure and energy in Macedonia, Macedonian PM said.
MM. Ivanov and Gruevski expressed their appreciation for the independent foreign policy of China and the commitment of Macedonia in the one-China policy.
Mr. Liu, who arrived in Macedonia at the invitation of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization - Democratic Party of Macedonia (VWRO DPMNE, power), has also met with Branko Crvenkovski, leader of the main opposition party, the Union of Social Democrats of Macedonia.
During his meetings with leaders of both parties, cooperation between parties in both countries was discussed. Liu proposed the establishment of a stable exchange mechanism between the parties in both countries, allowing politicians, including young people of both countries to exchange experiences in the management of party and country.
